Hindi Class Overview

Hindi, which gets its name from Persian origin, is a widely spoken language in India. It shares its roots with the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family. Hindi is an ancient language that is written in Devanagari script. That’s the reason it draws much of its vocabulary from Sanskrit.

Hindi is considered the fourth most spoken language in the world. It comes behind Chinese, Spanish, and English. It is a phonetic language, so hence you may find it easier to grasp and learn effectively. Over 270 million people speak Hindi across the globe as a native tongue. In India and Nepal alone, it is estimated to be 130 million use Hindi as a second language.

What is the best way to learn and improve Hindi?

The simplest and the most effective way to learn any language is to be at it. The more you are consistent and dedicated to studying and practicing the language, the better. Luckily, Hindi is one of the most popular languages globally, with nearly 1.7 million speakers. So you have a lot of them to speak the language with!

Listed below are some strategies to learn and improve Hindi the best way:

  1. Start with basic sentences and greetings

Learning big sentences or a set of difficult words may take time. Start with the basic sentences like ‘what’s your name, ‘how are you, and ‘where do you live. And greetings like ‘good morning’, ‘hello’, ‘welcome’, and ‘good night’.

     2) Start with practical and daily use of words and numbers

Study the days of the week and recite the numbers in Hindi. The phrases or words which are used daily will ensure you learn Hindi faster.

      3) Start including grammar in your language

When learning grammar, you correct your sentences and frame them better.

Pick up a good Hindi learning book, or you can find a tutor to learn efficiently.

      4) Keep practicing till you drop!

I can’t emphasize enough on this point. Even though Hindi is an easy language to learn, there are no shortcuts to learning the language without dedication. Don’t be

Afraid to make mistakes. If possible, find a native speaker to take you ahead.

They are written in a cursive shape with horizontal lines running on top of each letter. E.g., a, aa, e, ee,

2.Learning Hindi Numbers:

When you learn how to write the numbers in Hindi initially, they can be very tricky. Once you notice the regular patterns, you can remember them easily. When you write the numbers, they go from left to right. Pronouncing the numbers is also tough. So the primary focus is to focus on learning the basics from numbers 1-10.
